Welcome to McKinley School -- A 2007 Title 1 Achievement School and 2006 Bravo Award Winner!
About the PTA

What Is the PTA

PTAs serve as a type of forum where parents, teachers, administrators, and other concerned adults discuss ways to promote quality education, strive to expand the arts, encourage community involvement, and work for a healthy environment and safe neighborhoods.
The mission of the PTA is:
  • To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
  • To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
  • To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

How to Join the McKinley PTA

The McKinley PTA has been an active part of the school since it opened in September 1936. Now with the current budget crisis in California and the PUSD, it is more vital than ever to be involved in the PTA.

You can pick-up a membership envelope from the school office and come to the monthly PTA meetings. Please plan to join the PTA this year. Membership is only $6 per person and the PTA would love to see every McKinley caregiver be a member. It is the one membership you can't afford to pass up! Questions? Contact our membership officers, Michele Miner at this email address or via phone at (323) 255-8955 (H) or Lana Saucedo.

Monthly Meetings

The monthly PTA meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. in the pavilion (the "portable" building on the east side of the elementary school playground) on the dates below. Meetings are open to everyone. You do not need to be a member to attend. Here's your chance to speak up and have a voice about what goes on at McKinley School.
