ELAC
McKinley's English Learner Advisory Committee consists of parents and school staff who work together to address the academic needs of students still learning English. Any school that has more than 21 English language learners must establish an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).The ELAC is an important parent leadership group, as it helps to guide and support the education of the EL student community, and works to ensure that these students needs are met within the School Site Plan. The ELAC also works to gain parent and family participation. The Board is elected from the school community, although everyone is welcome to attend the meetings, which occur on the first Friday of every month at 8:30 a.m.
