Math Field Team
Math Field Day is a grades 4-8 math competition in which the top Pasadena Unified math students from each grade level, at each elementary and middle school, compete in four different math strands in order to receive a medal.

Odyssey of the Mind
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Kids apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and world level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.

Tutoring Programs
Students in 1st through 8th grades can attend the McKinley Homework Lab to get help with their homework. Students can use it as a quiet place to get homework done, or they can get the support that they need in various subjects. Teachers are available to answer any questions students may have. The Homework Lab is available to students from Tuesday through Thursday.
